Why this workshop matters Most organizations are flooded with data, yet much of it remains locked in scattered spreadsheets and disconnected systems. Without effective data management, this information becomes a burden — slowing decisions, wasting time, and increasing the risk of errors. Strong analytics begins with strong data foundations. Without well-managed data, even the best dashboards and analyses fall short. This workshop helps you shift from reactive reporting to proactive data management — so your team can focus on extracting insight, not wrestling with data. How we help you get there We go beyond teaching "how to use Excel." You'll learn why good data practices matter, and how they drive better analysis and reporting. You will: 🎯Understand where data management fits in the analytics value chain. 🎯Learn how to merge data, handle errors, and build calculated fields. 🎯Design interactive reports that update automatically with new data. 🎯Develop strategic thinking about what your reports should communicate. You’ll leave the workshop not only with technical skills, but with a clearer mindset for managing data to support business needs. What you’ll learn (using MS Excel) Through hands-on exercises with MS Excel, you will learn to: 📌Seamlessly merge data from multiple sources. 📌Identify and resolve data inconsistencies. 📌Create system and calculated fields to enhance reporting. 📌Build dynamic Pivot Tables and interactive dashboards. 📌Apply clear design principles to communicate insights effectively. Technical Requirements Please bring a laptop with Internet access and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint), version 2019 or later, installed. ✳️ Public Service Officers may register for this workshop via HRP using the same class code
